Eyes on the Prize; Ep. 4 - Important Vocabulary

Childrens Campaign - The Children’s Campaign was the voluntary involvement of children in civil rights demonstrations in Birmingham. Thousands of young people marched, were arrested, attacked by police dogs and tortured with water hoses.

March on Washington -  the most militant and important force in African American politics in the early 1940s, formed in order to protest segregation in the armed forces. 

Civil Rights Bill - a landmark piece of legislation in the United States that outlawed major forms of discrimination against blacks and women, including racial segregation
